My life has always been guided by a deep sense of purpose, even before I fully understood it. From a young age, I was driven to uncover my true self, to navigate the unknown, and to build a life that reflected my deepest passions and values.My determination and curiosity as a young girl led me to a profound discovery that added another layer to my journey, sparking within me a relentless drive—not only to succeed for myself but also for everyone whose life I could touch along the way.
My path to becoming a lawyer wasn’t conventional. I wanted to go overseas for law school, but doing so would be going against my parents’ wishes. Despite this, I pursued my dream of studying law in England. It wasn’t easy—I was on my own, armed with nothing but determination and a stack of credit cards to fund my first year. But deep down, I knew this was my path, and failure wasn’t an option. I worked tirelessly, saved every penny, and found a way to make it happen. That’s when I realized if I believed in something strongly enough, there was nothing I couldn’t achieve.
After years of perseverance, I founded Douglas Law Firm, a place where people aren’t just clients—they’re part of a community. My goal has always been to offer more than just legal services; I want to provide guidance, support, and solutions that make a real difference in my clients’ lives. From family law to real estate, wills, estates, and more, my firm is built on integrity, empathy, and a deep commitment to the people we serve.
As my law firm grew, from just me and my husband to a large team and 3 offices, I realized there was more I could do with my abilities. Using my legal expertise, I ventured deeper into the world of real estate and with a partner created MIRA International Realty Brokerage. Here, I help people build their dreams, find the perfect property, and navigate complex international markets. Real estate is more than just a business to me; it’s a way to empower others, give them the tools they need to succeed, and create opportunities that span the globe.
Looking to the future, I see endless possibilities. I’m excited about sharing my knowledge through speaking, mentoring, and maybe even writing a book one day. My story is one of resilience, courage, and unwavering belief in the power of taking risks. I’ve stepped outside my comfort zone countless times to reach my goals, and I want to help others do the same. When it came to providing legal services, I developed Douglas Law Firm with that in mind and since 2018, my team and I have been offering peace of mind to those we work alongside. My entry into law was deeply personal, starting with my own experiences and a deep interest in helping others navigate the complexities of life and today, my firm is still a reflection of that passion. From Family Law to Real Estate Law, and plenty more, our approach is rooted in understanding, empathy, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients. TRAVEL
In 2016, travel took on a new meaning when my husband and I went on our first vacation together—a cruise that led us to discover Key West. A laid-back paradise that quickly became one of my favourite destinations, offering both of us a much-needed escape and a place to dream about our future.
By 2023, it once again played a pivotal role in my life. Our wedding in Santorini, Greece, wasn’t just an unforgettable setting, and a perfect backdrop where we could celebrate our love but it also reignited my love for international real estate and inspired me to expand my business globally.
Most recently, our visit to Mérida, Mexico, in 2024 grew my love for getting away and my commitment to my business. Mérida’s vibrant culture and warm community left a lasting impression, solidifying my vision for the future. As I look ahead to new opportunities, including a likely trip to Dubai next year, I know that travel will continue to shape my journey, guiding me toward new horizons and a deeper appreciation for the world around us.
PROJECTS
As my partner and I continue to expand MIRA, I'm excited to announce that we're exploring Property Management as a key addition to our brand next year. This venture will allow us to offer a comprehensive range of services, ensuring our clients receive seamless support throughout their real estate journey. Beyond that, I'm also laying the groundwork for a teaching course aimed at helping aspiring professionals excel in law and real estate. It’s still in the early stages, but this course will be dedicated to sharing knowledge and empowering others to achieve success in their own careers.
